UI Rework - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Updated menu screen
About This Project
Konami's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a popular and genre-preceding game, one of its biggest weaknesses lies in its UI.
What are the issues of its UI menu?
- Lack of information hierarchy
- Unorganized and unaligned elements
- unidentifiable layout
- Lack of readability
- A lot of information on one screen
During the redesign I focused on arranging the elements fairly according to their hierarchy and giving the whole menu a more readable and user-friendly structure.
Another frequently mentioned weakness is the use of consumable items on the equipment screen. Each item must first be equipped individually and the menu must be closed before the item can be consumed during the game. This makes the simple action of consuming an item unnecessarily complicated.
For this reason, I have added an additional menu item that allows the clear and effective use of consumable items without having to exit the menu each time.
This work is a non-profit design project.
It is not affiliated with Konami or the Castlevania-series.
The character icon is taken from Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.
